Dictionary term
Trigger Link (GHL)
Also called trigger links
A trigger link is a tracked GoHighLevel link used in SMS, email, Google Business Profile messages and Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp DMs. A click redirects the contact, records the click on their activity timeline, and can start a workflow through the Trigger Link Clicked trigger.
In plain English
A trigger link is a special link you send to contacts. When someone clicks it, HighLevel knows who clicked and can start an automation for them.
Analogy
Like a door with a sensor: walking through takes you to the room and also turns on the lights.
Why it matters
Clicks are a strong buying signal. Trigger links let you tag, notify or move contacts automatically based on that intent, which a plain URL can't do.
In practice
A nurture email includes a 'See pricing' trigger link. Clicking it tags the contact 'pricing-interest' and creates a call task for the sales rep.
