Dictionary term
Rebilling
Also called usage rebilling · reselling · Usage-based Reselling
Charging sub-accounts for usage-based services such as SMS, calls, email and AI, either at cost or at a marked-up rate. HighLevel charges the agency wallet first, then the agency bills each sub-account for what it used. HighLevel has renamed the feature 'Usage-based Reselling' and manages it on a single Reselling page.
In plain English
Rebilling, now called Usage-based Reselling, is when an agency passes the cost of texts, calls, email and AI on to clients, often with a markup.
Analogy
Like a landlord who pays the wholesale utility bill and bills tenants at a higher rate.
Why it matters
It converts the messaging and AI costs of your automations into a profit margin instead of just an expense.
In practice
You set SMS rebilling to 2x cost so every workflow text a client sends generates margin for your agency.
