Dictionary term
No-Code / Low-Code
Also called no-code · low-code
No-code platforms let people build software or automations through a visual interface and configuration with no programming. Low-code platforms are mostly visual too, but allow or require some code for cases the visual tools can't handle.
In plain English
No-code means building apps or automations by clicking and dragging instead of writing code. Low-code is the same idea, with the option to add a little code when needed.
Analogy
No-code is building with LEGO kits. Low-code is LEGO plus a few custom-cut pieces when the kit doesn't have the shape you need.
Why it matters
It helps you pick the right tool and set client expectations: Zapier and GHL workflows suit no-code maintainers, while n8n and Make code steps suit builds that need custom logic someone must maintain.
In practice
A clinic owner maintains a no-code Zap that logs bookings to a sheet, while a developer adds a low-code n8n Code node to reformat messy phone numbers.
