Dictionary term
Pull Request
Also called PR
Web/DevBeginner
A proposal to merge changes from one branch into another, used on GitHub to review, discuss and run checks on code before it is merged.
In plain English
A request that says "here are my changes, please check them before they go into the main project."
Analogy
Like submitting a draft to an editor, who comments and approves it before it's printed.
Why it matters
Pull requests are where code review and automated tests happen, so mistakes are caught before they reach production.
In practice
You open a PR for a new pricing page; GitHub Actions runs the tests and Vercel posts a preview URL so the client can approve it before merge.
